The use of light therapy in medicine has a long history. The first light source used in photo medicine was natural sunlight. Even in ancient Egypt, sunlight was for medical treatments. Later, Hippocrates described the use of sunlight to cure various medical disorders.  Although sunlight therapy has no scientific explanation at that time, its healing power of it was clear, and Roman and Arab physicians introduced light therapy into general medical use.  Today it is known that the human organism transforms light into electrochemical energy, which activates a chain of biochemical reactions within cells, stimulating metabolism and reinforcing the immune response of the entire human body. Colors affect not only emotions and the general psychological state of a person, but even allow people to deal with a whole range of diseases on the anxiety-depressive spectrum: depression, anxiety disorders, sleep disorders, panic attacks.

Color therapy is a method of alternative medicine that uses a variety of colored light on a person, which can cure both physical diseases and mental disorders, as well as affect mood, internal state, and making vital decisions.

NATURE has provided seven main Color Rays for the treatment of disease. The Color Rays are representatives of the pure cosmic radiance: they are in essence spiritual forces perpetually flowing around and through the earth.

The principle behind Color-Healing is the regulation of the flow of the color forces by consciously absorbing them as needed, using each ray with the specific purpose of rebuilding, restoring, and revitalizing every organ of the body through the etheric counterparts. RAY 1 IS THE RED

 
This Ray is found at the thermal or heat end of the spectrum: thus, by its very nature, it is stimulating and warming. The power of Red to stimulate the arterial blood is shown not only in drugs that belong to the red group but also in cases of healing by red light. In the human body, this color controls the chakra at the base of the spine and exercises a great influence on the health and vitality of the body. Red rays cause reactions to occur in this center resulting in the release of adrenalin into the bloodstream. Red light increases the amount of hemoglobin in the blood and improves circulation by raising the temperature of the body. Red is thus the natural antidote to the cold blue conditions that it counteracts. Foods that help the Red Ray are beet, radishes, red cabbage, cresses, spinach, plums and damsons, black cherries, berries, and currants.

The effect of Red on the mental and nervous system is stimulating and uplifting. Treating this color stimulates the automatic nervous and circulatory systems. Stimulates and builds the liver. Builds the red corpuscles in the liver which are stored in the bone marrow for any needed emergency or sudden loss of blood. Red, being the color of the life force, engenders strength, courage, and enthusiasm. The best shade to cultivate mentally and physically is Rose-red, the symbol of Universal Love. The Red Ray may be applied in all cases of blood disorders, weak or impaired vitality, and defective circulation.

 
RED

Physical:

  • Stimulates the sensory nervous system which energizes the senses: sight, hearing, touch, taste and smell
  • Liver builder and stimulant for liver and stomach
  • Builds platelets, hemoglobin, etc., of the blood (hemoglobic)
  • Causes rapid expulsion of debris through the skin; may induce skin redness, itching, pimples, until the internal cleansing process is completed (irritant, pustulant)
  • Counter-agent for cold burns from x-rays, ultra-violet

RAY 2 IS THE ORANGE

 
This Ray is of very great value as it is linked with the vital force that flows into the body from the sun. It controls the chakra in the spleen and focuses on the task of absorbing and distributing vital energy.

Orange Rays influence the processes of digestion and assimilation. The color is a powerful tonic and has a direct effect on building the energy of the body. Being the middle ray between the physical and mental principles, Orange is of vital importance mentally in the assimilation and visualization of ideas. This Ray is an excellent antidote to repressions and limitations and calls forth self-confidence and positive thinking: hence its value in salesmanship and display.

It is a plus vibration and care must be exercised in its use as it can lead to overstimulation. It is always advisable to blend or modify a very strong vibration with one of lesser potency that is in harmony with it—in this case Blue and Yellow or Green.

The effect of Orange on the mind is to foster optimism, courage, and the will to succeed. The Orange Ray is used in the treatment of the spleen and kidneys: bronchitis, chest conditions, and venous debility. Gives life and healing with its increase in oxygen by stimulating of the lungs and thyroid glands. It depresses the parathyroid glands.

It stimulates the production of milk in the mammary glands. Relieves gas in the digestive system; alleviates convulsions and cramps in all parts of the body.

It is most effective for hiccups. Relieves all kinds of discharges and eliminations.

Decreases menstrual cramps. It is a lung builder and respiratory stimulant. It heals all lung disorders.

 

ORANGE

Physical:

  • Lung builder and respiratory stimulants areas thyroid, breast and upper back
  • Thyroid builder and stimulant, Parathyroid depressant
  • Relieves cramps and muscle spasms (antispasmodic)
  • Stimulates mammary glands to increase milk production
  • Stomach stimulant, areas spleen, liver, stomach (stomachic)
  • Assists vomiting when stomach contains unsuitable matter.
  • Relieves flatulence or gas in the digestive tract (mid and lower abdomen)
  • Bone builder, corrects bone softness, and rickets, by calcium effect
  • Tissue stimulant decongestant

RAY 3 IS THE YELLOW

 
Yellow holds first place in the spectrum for maximum brightness and luminosity. It is the Ray of maximum light and is a positive magnetic vibration with a powerful effect on the nervous system. It is connected with the Solar Plexus the chakra which acts as the brain center, of the nervous system. This Ray has an affinity with the liver and intestines and has a cleansing and heating effect on the skin. It is one of the “Rays of Mind” and certainly stimulates the mental faculties, helping in the creation of thought and in visualization. As a general color, it arouses optimism, cheerfulness, and a balanced outlook on life. Yellow is a creative color. Stimulating, activating, endless energy and building of the motivating actions in the body. It is an excellent color to have in a room where mental pursuits are carried out.

This Ray is used in the treatment of the organs that are adjacent to the Solar Plexus as well as diseases of the skin and nerves. Depresses the spleen and the parathyroid gland. Increases the appetite. Aids in better assimilation for better nutrition. Stimulates the lymphatic glands. Is a nerve stimulant and builder. Stimulates and strengthens the heart for better circulation. Destroys body worms and drives them out of the body. Worms and insects shy away from the yellow. Stimulates and builds the eyes and ears. Loosens and aids in the elimination of calcium and lime deposits that cause arthritis, neuritis, and similar conditions.

YELLOW

Physical:

  • Stimulates the motor nervous system which energizes the muscles. Nerve builder for sensory and motor systems.
  • Stimulates the lymphatic system. Mild tissue stimulant
  • Stimulates the intestines, pancreas, and production of digestive fluids – bile, hydrochloric acid, etc.
  • Increases bowel movements
  • Spleen depressant; equilibrator in melancholia, balances areas of the spleen and liver through the portal circulation.
  • Expels worms and parasites

RAY 4 IS THE GREEN

 
The Green Ray occupies the middle or point of balance in the solar spectrum. It is midway between the thermal or heat end of the spectrum and the cold or electric end. Hence, it is the Ray of Balance, Harmony, and Concord.

Green is the color of Nature and is soothing harmonious radiation that is essential for the well-being of our nerves and the proper functioning of the body. The “Green Pasture” and fresh air philosophy is not a poetical fancy but a stark necessity. This Ray controls the chakra at the heart or cardiac center. Greenlight is composed of yellow and blue rays that strongly influence blood pressure and heart action: the blue element in it counterbalances the more potent energy of the Yellow Ray. Greenlight gives us the energy of the sun in the safest and most natural form and is identical to the green plant energy known as chlorophyll which is prescribed by medical science as specific for the heart. This Ray radiates sympathy, kindness, and peace and is also linked with abundance, evolution, and supply. Green in any form is one of the finest tonics for tired nerves. This Ray is used in the treatment of diseases of the heart and blood and is also useful for the nerves of the head. It is the fulcrum of the primary colors and stands out as the key to preparing the body for more effective results from the other colors. It stimulates the pituitary, the master gland. Is a vibrant color of life and growth—- the most predominating color in the life force of our planet. Is crisp, cool, and fresh-cleaning in nature? Has the universal appeal to the sense of balance and normality. Raises the vibrations of the body above the vibrations of disease—- a form of immunity from all diseases. Destroys and heals all infections. Hospitals find fewer infections when green is present. Is the color of clarity—destroying rooting materials and building cells and tissues. This is nitrogen, the substance of protein, the builder of muscles. Animal proteins are highly toxic and destructive. They have no place in creative nutrition. Many elements needed by the body are absorbed from the air through the lungs. It is recognized that oxygen and hydrogen are taken from the air, but few realize that nitrogen is also from the air and used as a protein builder. Breathing fresh air and eating fresh fruits and vegetables eliminates completely the possible need for any animal form of food. Smoking prevents the lungs from utilizing the nitrogen from the air. Heavy smokers have a craving for toxic animal proteins. Plants obtain a great percentage of their nitrogen from the air also. Green is the best basic color for all disorders of either chronic or acute conditions. Green dissolves blood clots in any part of the body or head. It takes less than an hour to accomplish this. There is nothing in medicine that works so fast. The chemicals used for this purpose have many dangerous side effects. There are no side effects from the use of green.

 

GREEN

Physical:       

  • Produces a favorable change in the processes of nutrition and repair in persistent disorders (chronic alternative) and Dissolves blood clots.
  • Promotes coughing to expel mucus and fluids from the lungs and air passages
  • Bone builder, by phosphorus effect
  • Brain stimulant
  • Thymus builder and stimulant
  • Mildly stimulates digestive system (laxative)
  • Cerebral equilibrator. Physical equilibrator, systemic front
  • Pituitary stimulant and equilibrator (area: face)
  • Stimulated the rebuilding of muscles and tissues
  • Destroys microorganisms, germs, and bacteria; cleanses and prevents the decay (germicide, bactericide, disinfectant, antiseptic)

RAY 5 IS THE BLUE

 

Blue is the first color belonging to the cold, non-stimulating, or astringent division of the spectrum. Its effect is to steady or slow down the energy of the Red-Orange-Yellow group. It successfully combats feverish conditions, bleeding, germs, nervous irritation, etc. Psychologically, the Blue vibration raises the consciousness to the realm of spirit: hence the value of this color in spiritual healing, meditation, devotional services, and so on. The Cosmic Soul or higher mind of nature expresses much of the peace, beauty, and harmony of creation through the Blue and Green Rays. This Ray has a calming effect on the mind and nerves and is successfully employed in cases of insomnia. Truth, peace, poise, and serenity are the main features of the mental influence of Blue Ray. It is connected with the chakra at the throat and is used in the treatment of diseased conditions in that region: also as fevers, rheumatism, and headaches. The oxygen in blue unites or intercepts the hydrogen in red to increase perspiration as a fever is broken. It is a vitality builder—the oxygen neutralizes the fatigue poisons for a more relaxed and calming condition. Blue is the color of the pineal gland, the color of the spirit. A strong, deep blue in the aura indicates maturity, calmness, and dependability. A light thin blue in the aura indicates anemia. Blue is a creative force. It produces a peaceful effect for sounder sleep, it relieves itching and irritations, and it relieves all fevers and burns.

 

BLUE

Physical:

  • Relieves itching, and irritation of abraded surfaces
  • Encourages perspiration
  • Mild sedative. Reduces or removes fever and inflammation
  • Pineal stimulant (area: face) Builds vitality.

For conditions such as Hot Burns, Cough, Sunburn, Arthritis, Rashes

RAY 6 IS THE INDIGO

The Indigo Ray is of high value as an astringent, purifying, and cooling vibration. It is based on a very important glandular center – the Pineal—which is concerned with the nervous, mental, and psychic forces and faculties of man. The organs of sight, hearing, and smelling are under the influence of the Indigo Ray. This Ray provides one of the safest and most natural anesthetics causing a hypnotic condition in which the patient is insensitive to pain yet at the same time fully conscious. Stimulating and regenerating to the mind and soul, Indigo is one of the rays of the future race-consciousness extending the inner vision and opening up new fields of comprehension and knowledge. Acting on the personality and character it is an antidote to frustrations, the fear-complex, and general negative conditions. Among the numerous diseases that are successfully treated with Indigo are mental disorders, especially obsessions, nervous disorders, insomnia, and diseases of the eye, ear, and nose. Indigo depresses the thyroid and at the same time stimulates the parathyroid. It is an analgesic—giving relief, especially to pain from extreme swelling. It reduces acute swelling as well as relieves the pain. It is a very strong sedative. Stops hemorrhages and nose bleeds. Stops internal bleeding into the tissues and organs. It is an astringent—tightening, firming, and toning the flesh, skin, and nerves. (Women particularly enjoy its effect of firming the skin.) As an antibiotic, it equals or surpasses any of the manufactured products on the market with no harmful side effects. The body never becomes allergic or intolerant to its antiseptic action. Has a narcotic effect—produces a strong, deep sleep. Upon awakening, there are no hangovers or drug-like, effects. Instead, one feels alive, alert, and refreshed.

 

INDIGO

Physical:

  • Parathyroid builder and stimulant (area: thyroid)
  • Thyroid depressant
  • Respiratory depressant
  • Causes contractions, controls abscess, lessens secretions, arrests discharges, and hemorrhages (astringent)
  • Promotes the production of phagocytes which destroy harmful micro-organisms, bacteria, germs, etc.
  • Mammary depressant – reduces milk production
  • Eases suffering, lessens excitement and over-activity (sedative)

RAY 7 IS THE VIOLET

Violet is the highest vibration of Light, with strong electrochemical properties, and the rays are stimulating to the nervous system. It is inspiring to the mind, arousing soul qualities, mysticism, spiritual intuition, and idealism. It is useful for restoring the mental equilibrium and lack of poise that the rush and bustle of modern life produce, in so many sensitive people. It is not a color for the masses but appeals more to the sensitive and soul-conscious type of person. Its two divisions, the Purple and the Amethyst correspond to the material and spiritual aspects. The absorption of Purple or Violet light for a short time each evening will be found invaluable for brain-workers and will help considerably in ensuring restful sleep. The Violet Ray is connected with the chakra in the higher brain known as the Pituitary Gland which is concerned with the spiritual intuitive faculty. This color aids the development of spiritual consciousness, clairvoyance, and psychic sensitiveness and is of great value in meditation and concentration exercises. Violet is used in the treatment of mental, nervous, and cerebral diseases, neurosis, neuralgia, rheumatism, and epilepsy. Violet has the shortest wavelength of visible colors. A motor depressant—depressing all over-active parts of the body except the spleen and the parathyroid. It is a spiritual color. Relaxes, calms, and depresses the nerves, as in over-excitable people. It is also an antibiotic, building organisms that destroy harmful organisms. As a splenic stimulant, it builds the white corpuscles in the spleen. The spleen produces Vitamin D. As the blood passes through the spleen to the heart, a final cleaning takes place to remove any harmful poison or bad cells. Reduces excitement and extreme irritations. Depresses the action of the lymphatic glands for lowered nutrition such as in overweight. Depresses the appetite. It is a cardiac depressant, relaxing and soothing to the muscles and nerves controlling the heart. Gives relief from dysentery and diarrhea. Gives a wonderful deep sleep similar to the Indigo.

 

VIOLET

Physical:

  • Kidney and adrenal depressant (area: middle back)
  • Decreases sensitivity to pain. Induces relaxation and sleep
  • Increases functional activity of the veins
  • Lowers blood pressure by three effects: dilates blood vessels, reduces the heart rate (area: breasts), decreases the activity of the kidneys and adrenals (area: middle back) and the chromaffin system, systemic front and back
  • Lowers body temperature, Controls fever and high blood pressure in malaria and recurrent fevers
  • Emotional and reproductive system depressant. Builds sex powers by decreasing sensitivity and desire when excessive
  • Moderates blood pressure between heart and lungs.
